Terms and Conditions of Sale

Last updated: 3 October 2026

1. Purpose

These terms govern sales made on the Livre-toi website between Catherine Ngo, sole trader (French micro-entreprise), SIREN 918 801 853, 24 Allée des Vignes, 93140 Bondy, France ("the Seller") and any consumer ("the Customer"): the sale of personalized print-on-demand books, and the supply of usage credits giving access to the site's artificial intelligence features (article 5).

Any order implies full acceptance of these terms.

1 bis. Access to the service and minors

Creating an account and placing orders are reserved for adults with full legal capacity.

A minor may take part in creating a book (texts, drawings, photos) under the supervision of an adult. A minor may neither create their own account nor place an order: the order is placed by the adult account holder, who is the Customer.

The Customer remains responsible for the use of their account, the content submitted and the orders placed, including where a minor took part in creating the book.

2. Products

The books sold are personalized works created by the Customer from their own content (texts, photos) and/or AI-generated illustrations, then printed on demand.

On-screen visuals are a preview: slight variations in color or trimming inherent to printing may occur and do not constitute a lack of conformity.

3. Prices

Prices are shown in euros, all taxes included. The reduced 5.5% rate applies to printed books only, not to usage credits. The invoice issued for each purchase is authoritative as to the VAT actually applied: where the Seller falls under the French small-business VAT exemption (article 293 B of the General Tax Code), no VAT is charged. Shipping costs are shown before payment and charged in addition.

The Seller may change prices at any time; products are invoiced at the rate in force at the time of ordering.

4. Order and payment

Payment is made online by card through our secure provider Stripe. The order is firm and final upon payment confirmation.

A confirmation email summarizing the order is sent to the Customer.

5. Credits

Credits are prepaid usage units that unlock the site's artificial intelligence features (generating and retouching illustrations, correcting or polishing texts). They are not money, not a means of payment and not a claim on the Seller: they cannot be converted into cash, cannot be assigned and cannot be transferred from one account to another. The number of credits required by each feature is listed at any time on the site's Pricing page.

Every allocation of credits is valid for 365 days from the day it is added to the Customer's account. This duration applies to all allocations, without exception: credits bought in a pack, free credits (in particular at signup and with every book ordered) and credits restored after a technical incident. The period runs separately for each allocation, and not from the creation of the account. Where several allocations coexist, credits from a subscription are used before credits bought in a pack or granted for free; at equal consumption priority, the credits closest to expiry are used first. The Customer can check their balance and the nearest expiry date at any time from their profile.

Credits not used before the end of their validity period are permanently lost, with no restitution, extension or cash equivalent. For information, a reminder email is sent to the Customer during the 30 days before the nearest expiry date, to the address linked to their account.

Where an artificial intelligence feature fails for a technical reason and produces no result, the credits debited are automatically restored to the Customer's account, in the same amount and for a fresh 365-day validity period starting on the date of restitution. This automatic restitution covers only the technical failure of the generation. It does not apply where a result was produced but does not match the Customer's expectations, taste or intentions: results produced by artificial intelligence vary by nature and cannot be guaranteed to match a subjective expectation. The Customer may run as many further generations as they wish, each being charged normally. Where a request is refused by the moderation filter, no credit is debited. If, following an incident, a restitution does not appear on their account, the Customer may report it to livre_toi@outlook.fr and the credits concerned will be restored.

Buying a credit pack constitutes the supply of digital content not on a tangible medium. Under Articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, the Customer has fourteen calendar days from purchase to exercise their right of withdrawal, by simple request sent to livre_toi@outlook.fr. The refund is issued without undue delay and no later than fourteen calendar days after that request, and any credits from the pack concerned still present on the account are then withdrawn. Free credits, for which no payment is made, give rise to no refund.

6. Right of withdrawal on printed books: IMPORTANT

In accordance with Article L221-28, 3° of the French Consumer Code, the 14-day right of withdrawal DOES NOT APPLY to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalized.

As books sold on Livre-toi are fully personalized by the Customer, no withdrawal, cancellation or refund is possible once the order is paid, except in the event of non-conformity or hidden defect.

Customers are invited to carefully review their book (texts, images, layout) before confirming their order.

7. Production and delivery

Books are printed on demand by our printing partner and shipped to the address provided by the Customer. Indicative production time is 3–5 business days, plus transit time depending on the chosen shipping method.

A tracking email is sent upon shipment. If delivery is delayed by more than 30 days beyond the indicative date, the Customer may cancel the order and be refunded.

8. Conformity and claims

In the event of a damaged, defective or non-conforming book (printing defect, missing pages…), the Customer benefits from the legal guarantee of conformity and the guarantee against hidden defects under French law.

Any book received damaged or with a manufacturing defect must be reported within 21 business days of delivery, with photos or a video of the defect, to livre_toi@outlook.fr or through the website contact form: the book will then be reprinted free of charge or refunded.

This 21-day window is our fast-track process; after it, the Customer retains the benefit of the legal guarantees mentioned above.

9. Customer content

The Customer warrants holding all intellectual property rights and image rights permissions for the content they submit (texts, photographs and other uploaded files, depicted persons). Where this content depicts a minor, the Customer expressly warrants having the consent of the holders of parental authority.

The Customer indemnifies the Seller against any third-party proceedings, claims or actions resulting from a breach of these warranties.

Illegal, infringing, defamatory, hateful, pornographic content or content violating third-party rights is prohibited. The Seller reserves the right to refuse printing of such content and to suspend the account concerned.

10. Mediation and disputes

The Customer may use a consumer mediator free of charge: CM2C (Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de justice), 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, www.cm2c.net. EU online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

These terms are governed by French law.
