How do I create my book?
Three steps: choose a format and binding, fill your pages (write yourself, or let the guided mode ask you questions and shape your story, with illustrations created from your photos), then order the printed book. You can preview everything before paying.
I am not a writer. Can the guided mode help me?
Yes. The guided mode asks you simple questions about your life chapter by chapter, then shapes your answers into warm, faithful text. You can edit every word before printing.
How do credits work?
- Generating an illustration covering one page costs 1 credit.
- Generating an illustration covering two pages costs 2 credits.
- Filling in the guided mode steps is free; only launching the overall correction and the shaping of your story costs 1 credit.
You get 3 free credits when you sign up. Every printed book earns you 20 extra credits, counted per different book: order 5 different books at once and you get 100 credits; 5 copies of the same book count as one book, so 20 credits. Packs start at 2.99 € (25 credits). All credits are valid for 1 year (365 days) from the day they are added to your account. Unused credits are lost at expiry. A reminder email is sent during the 30 days before they expire.
How much does a printed book cost?
The price depends on the format, binding and number of pages. It is calculated from the real printing cost and always shown before payment. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address.
Which formats and bindings are available?
The available formats are: A5 portrait, square 21.6 cm, A4 portrait and A4 landscape, with a softcover, a hardcover, or a hardcover with a linen cover and printed dust jacket. For color and paper type, the default option is premium color printing on coated paper. You can also opt for black and white or standard color printing, as needed.
How long does printing and delivery take?
Each book is printed on demand in 3 to 5 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays), starting the day after your order is confirmed. This production time cannot be changed and is not guaranteed. Shipping time is additional and depends on your address and the option chosen. You will receive a tracking number when your book ships.
Can I see my book before ordering?
Yes. A realistic page-turning preview shows your whole book, from the front cover to the back cover, exactly at its real proportions. You can also download a watermarked preview PDF.
Are my photos and stories safe?
Your photos and texts are stored securely and used only to create your book. They are never shared, sold, or used to train image or text generation tools. You can delete them at any time.
Can I order several copies?
Yes, choose the quantity in your cart. Life story books are perfect gifts, and families often order a copy for each child or grandchild.
Can I change my book after ordering?
A book is final once sent to print. Your draft stays editable though, so you can improve it and order a new edition whenever you like.
What if my book arrives damaged?
Report it within 21 business days of delivery with photos or a video of the defect (using the contact form below): we will reprint it free of charge or refund you. Since each book is made to order, personalized items are not eligible for withdrawal (see our terms).
Is the printing responsible?
As much as possible, yes. Your books are printed by Lulu, a global print-on-demand specialist: each copy is only produced when it is ordered, which avoids overproduction and the destruction of unsold stock. Lulu prints on paper from certified sustainably managed forest supply chains, through a network of printers that brings production closer to the reader to limit shipping distances.
Which languages are supported?
The whole experience, including the guided mode, works in French and English.
